NCL Starts Construction for Norwegian Encore Cruise Ship

With a brand new ship, Norwegian Bliss set to debut in just three months, Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that their next cruise ship, Norwegian Encore has begun construction.

At the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, executives from both companies gathered to watch them cut the first plate of steel, marking the ceremonial start of construction of Norwegian Encore, which is due for delivery on October 31, 2019.

Stephan Schmees, Executive Board Member Project Management Ships, MEYER WERFT said:

Andy Stuart, president and chief executive officer for Norwegian Cruise Line said:

We continue building on our legacy of innovation with this brand-new state-of-the-art vessel perfect for exploring the natural beauty of some of the most remarkable islands in the world.”

Norwegian Encore will sail The Caribbean from Miami seasonally beginning fall 2019. Featuring amenities and interactive experiences that will excite and inspire, more details on the ship’s design, accommodations, dining and onboard offerings will be shared in the coming months. The ship will be available for reservations in March 2018.
