Carnival Cruise Line has announced that Carly Rae Jepson, the Grammy Award-nominated, multi-platinum, singer/songwriter will perform as part of the Carnival Live concert series in 2018. Jepsen will perform a free concert aboard Carnival Splendor in February 2018. The concert marks the first time the cruise line is collaborating with Universal Music Group and Brands (UMGB), the brand strategy and partnership division of Universal Music Group. The construction of the world’s first LNG cruise ship is progressing rapidly. AIDAnova now under construction at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The first of two huge ship modules was moved from the assembly hall and taken to the dockyard equipment quay. It makes room for the second engine room module of AIDAnova to progress. By the end of February 2018, this second module will be built up to deck 20. Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line announced in August that they had signed a 10-year agreement with the Port of Palm Beach and that they had purchased a second ship that will also be based at the Port. The company has named the new ship, Grand Classica. Grand Classica will carry up to 1,680 guests and features 685 staterooms, a multitude of restaurants and bars, a theater, two pools, four hot tubs, wellness center and spa, outdoor jogging track and more. The Carnival Fascination, one of Carnival Cruise Line’s popular Fantasy-Class ships will undergo a multi-million-dollar dry dock to add the line’s newest food and beverage venues. The new spaces include Guy’s Burger Joint, the cocktail pharmacy-themed Alchemy Bar, BlueIguana Cantina Mexican eatery, Cherry on Top sweets shop, the poolside RedFrog Rum Bar and BlueIguana Tequila Bar, and a Bonsai Sushi Express venue. MSC Cruises has announced that MSC Meraviglia, their largest cruise ship launched in June 2017 will sail 3 cruises from New York in 2019. MSC Meraviglia will make her maiden call in the United States on October 7, 2019.
