Symphony of the Seas, currently under construction at the STX shipyards in France, has now moved closer to her full completion as she approaches her April 2018 launch date. With the work on the exterior hull now complete, Symphony of the Seas was floated from her dry dock to begin the interior finishing and fitting out.
As the fourth ship in the successful Oasis Class, Symphony of the Seas will spend her inaugural summer season exploring the awe-inspiring destinations of the Mediterranean calling on ports in Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Provence, France; Florence/Pisa, Rome and Naples, Italy. She will then arrive to Miami in early November to begin 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.
Symphony of the Seas will claim the title of the world’s largest cruise ship, something that has become almost expected, as each new delivery within this ship class, has surpassed previous sisters. Offering an additional 28 staterooms than her newest sister ship Harmony of the Seas and encompassing 230,000 gross registered tons, Symphony of the Seas will be just a little bit bigger.
Hinting that there will be even more new features, Symphony also will boast all the groundbreaking innovations and thrilling experiences that have garnered worldwide recognition for Harmony of the Seas. Among the guest favorites are the unique seven-neighborhood concept, imaginative and sophisticated dining venues, Bionic Bar manned by robot bartenders, Broadway-style entertainment, the incredible AquaTheater, the Perfect Storm trio of waterslides, and the Ultimate Abyss – the tallest slide at sea that plunges guests twirling down 10 decks.
