AIDAnova Cruise Ship Taking Shape With New Tail Section

The construction of the world’s first LNG cruise ship is progressing rapidly. AIDAnova now under construction at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The first of two huge ship modules was moved from the assembly hall and taken to the dockyard equipment quay. It makes room for the second engine room module of AIDAnova to progress. By the end of February 2018, this second module will be built up to deck 20.

The AIDAnova will launch in December 2018 as one of the most environmentally friendly and low-emissions cruise ships in the world and will spend her inaugural winter season in the Canary Islands.

An identical sister ship of 180,000 gross tons (GT) and about 2,600 cabins is scheduled to be delivered in spring 2021.
