Carnival Horizon Named by Godmother Queen Latifah

Carnival Horizon, the newest cruise ship from Carnival Cruise Line, celebrated the official naming ceremony by the ship’s Godmother, Queen Latifah. Following the ceremony, Latifah squared off against Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl champion Jake Elliott in Lip Sync Battle: Horizon modeled after the hit Paramount Network TV series and rolling out across the Carnival fleet. Carnival Horizon joins the Carnival Cruise Line Fleet

At the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, Carnival Cruise Line has taken delivery of the 26th ship in their fleet, Carnival Horizon. The 133,500-ton, 3,954-passenger ship will reposition to Barcelona, Spain, where it will depart April 2 on an inaugural 13-day voyage – the first of four sailings from the European port.  The ship will then operate a trans-Atlantic crossing before arriving in New York May 23, 2018, for a pierside overnight gala and naming ceremony featuring the ship’s godmother, Grammy award-winning musical artist and acclaimed actress Queen Latifah.
